See ‘The Odd Couple,’ help scholarship fund

Neil Simon’s comedy classic “The Odd Couple” will be staged for six benefit performances in the BackStage Theatre at the College of Southern Nevada, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave., North Las Vegas.

Shows are Friday, Saturday and June 25 and 26 at 7 p.m., and Sunday and June 27 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 and available at the CSN box office, 651-5483. Discounts are available.

Proceeds benefit the Vicente Rodriguez Memorial Scholarship at the college.

Rodriguez, a 20-year-old stagehand, fell to his death from a catwalk at the MGM Grand in May 2009.

Led by Yale Yeandel, who works at “Le Reve,” actors and technicians from shows on the Strip honored Rodriguez through a one-night benefit, “From the Heart of the Strip,” last year. Proceeds established scholarships at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and CSN.
