Jackson sued
John Landis, who co-wrote the video and shot "Thriller" for Michael Jackson, is suing the artist. Landis says the pop star has failed to pay him royalties for the past four years. Landis' Levitsky Productions Inc. sued Jackson in Santa Monica, Calif., on Jan. 21. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and claims Landis is owed 50 percent of profits from "Thriller" projects.
McCarthy home burns
The home where author Cormac McCarthy grew up has burned in Knoxville, Tenn. According to The Knoxville News-Sentinel, the blaze was discovered by neighbors, and firefighters found flames shooting from the upper floor of the two-story house on Tuesday. No cause of the blaze had been determined. The house was abandoned, and there have been reports of homeless people on the property, though no one was there when firefighters arrived. McCarthy won a Pultizer Prize for his 2007 novel "The Road." He also is the author of "No Country for Old Men."
In the ring
He's played one on the big screen, and now Mickey Rourke will wrestle for real. The actor will take on WWE superstar Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania 25 in Houston on April 5. Rourke, who plays Randy the Ram in the movie "The Wrestler," said he was pleased by the acceptance of the movie by WWE wrestlers -- except Jericho. In true wrestling trash-talking fashion, Rourke said he would toss Jericho "around the ring like a tossed salad." Jericho said Rourke was out of line and that the actor made "a mistake."
New manager
Kelly Rowland, formerly of Destiny's Child, is no longer managed by Matthew Knowles, father of Beyonce. Rowland and Knowles said Wednesday that he is bowing out as her manager. Both Rowland and Knowles -- who still manages Beyonce -- called the split amicable, saying they always will be family. Rowland sold millions of records as part of Destiny's Child, but her solo career has not been as successful.
