QUICK TAKES
Inductees named
The Country Music Association announced Wednesday the newest members of the Country Music Hall of Fame. Barbara Mandrell, Roy Clark and Charlie McCoy will be formally inducted in a ceremony this spring. Mandrell's hits include "Sleeping Single in a Double Bed," while Clark is known for "Yesterday When I Was Young" and for co-hosting the TV show "Hee Haw." McCoy was one of Nashville's top session players in the 1960s and '70s.
Co-stars wed
"Fringe" co-stars Anna Torv and Mark Valley have tied the knot. Torv's representative, Jen Turner, says they were married in December, but provided no other details. Torv plays FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham on "Fringe," while Valley played her partner and secret lover, agent John Scott, when the series began in the fall.
Crying foul
U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, D-N.J., has demanded an investigation after fans were unable to buy Bruce Springsteen tickets Monday for a show at the Meadowlands from Ticketmaster's Web site, which then offered them more expensive tickets from a subsidiary. Pascrell wants the Federal Trade Commission and Justice Department to investigate any conflicts of interest involving Ticketmaster and the company's ticket reseller, TicketsNow. A Ticketmaster spokesman says only a few fans reported problems.
Wilson to host
Carnie Wilson, formerly of Wilson Phillips, is slated to host 40 episodes of a new GSN edition of the "Newlywed Game." The original show, hosted by Bob Eubanks, debuted in 1966 and went on to span more than 20 years on the air. The new edition of "The Newlywed Game," where couples answer questions to find out how well they know each other, premieres April 6.
Meeeeeeow
"I said, 'Listen, if you girls are going fight, try to mention my name at least once,' so I can pretend they're arguing over me. Usually, it has nothing to do with me but ... as a man, I have to think that they're fighting over me." -- Bret Michaels, on contestants' catfights to win the Poison frontman's heart on the VH1 series "Rock of Love."
