GOSSELIN, TLC SETTLE SUIT

The lawsuit filed by TLC against reality TV star Jon Gosselin has been settled, the network announced Wednesday. Gosselin faced a breach of contract lawsuit filed by TLC in October. The suit claimed Gosselin didn't meet his obligations as an exclusive employee of the cable channel while appearing on rival shows for pay. He also was accused of making unauthorized public disclosures about the show. Gosselin countersued, claiming Pennsylvania's Child labor laws were violated in filming "Jon & Kate Plus 8." A TLC spokeswoman said the terms of the settlement are confidential.

TORN'S COURT DATE MOVED

Actor Rip Torn, who is accused of breaking into a bank in Salisbury, Conn., last month, will have his court date postponed to March. A judge moved the date, citing a scheduling conflict. Torn was to appear in court on Wednesday to enter pleas to burglary and firearms charges. The "Men in Black" actor has been in an alcohol rehabilitation program since shortly after his January arraignment. He will now appear in court on March 9.
