Performers from Strip shows to star in ‘Dracula’ at CSN

Performers from Las Vegas-based Broadway shows will be featured in a benefit staged reading concert of "Dracula" at the College of Southern Nevada.

The dramatic music and story of the vampire Dracula will be presented 2 p.m. Oct. 18-19 in the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre at the College of Southern Nevada's Performing Arts Center, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave.

VIP tickets are $50, which includes preferred seating and a post-show reception with the performers. Second tier seating is $30.

Tickets are available at the college box office by calling 651-5483 for reservations.

Composed by Richard Oberacker, conductor of Cirque du Soleil's "Ka," the staged concert features a 15-piece orchestra and performers from a variety of shows on the Las Vegas Strip.

"The reponse we've received from the singers and musicans from the Las Vegas-based Broadway shows has been phenomenal," said Carmen Yurich, the show director.

The college's Performing Arts Center and Family Promise, a nonprofit organization that assists homeless families in the Las Vegas valley, have partnered to produce 'Dracula,' which is a benefit for both organizations. There will be a silent auction before each performance.

The Performing Arts Center share of the proceeds will go into its Friends of the Horn account, which is used to enhance productions by brining in guest artists and more diverse programming for students and the community.
