American Indian event Saturday in Overton

Navajo Elder Alice Turquois and her daughter Lula Mae Whiterock will share some of their American Indian artwork and traditions from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lost City Museum in Overton.

The duo will explain how the traditions of hand-made artworks, including pottery, jewelry and dream catchers, are carried on and why they need to be preserved.

The museum is located at State Route 169 off Interstate 15 in Overton.

Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors and free for children 17 and younger.
