Disney princesses take to the ice at Orleans
How do you take your wholesomeness? If you prefer it over ice, try chilling at the Orleans Arena.
In "Disney on Ice Presents Princess Wishes," performing through Monday, the House of Mouse takes to the skates for its tale of seven beloved heroines, told ice capade-style.
On Disney-esque blades of glory, that eternal pixie Tinkerbell will guide Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Mulan, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White on a journey to watch their wishes granted and dreams realized.
For Ariel, fantasies are unlocked under the sea, while Mulan teaches a lesson about inner strength. Then there's Snow White, who discovers that love dwarfs all.
The icy, intricate acrobatics are performed against the backdrop of a cascading, multitiered waterfall that shifts into separate sets for each princess, outfitted in clothes created by Ilona Somogyi, costume designer for the Broadway production of "Spamalot."
Performances of "Disney on Ice" are at 4 and 7:30 p.m. today; 11:30 a.m., 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and 11:30 a.m. Monday.
Tickets are $18.50-$47.50. For more information, call 284-7777 or visit www.orleansarena.com.
