‘Nutcracker’ continues at Paris Las Vegas

Performances of "The Nutcracker," a holiday tradition of the Nevada Ballet Theatre, continue through Christmas Eve at Paris Las Vegas, 3655 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Shows are scheduled today and Friday at
7 p.m. and Saturday at 1 and 5 p.m. Tickets are $38.70 to $131.70, and are available by calling 946-4567.

The ballet features music by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and choreography by Peter Anastos.

The story centers around a nutcracker given to young Clara during a Christmas party at the Stahlbaum family home. After she falls asleep near the Christmas tree, the ballet unfolds in her dream when toys come alive to dance and a fight erupts between the nutcracker and Mouse King.

This is the 30th year that the ballet has been presented by the local troupe.
