Michael Monroe your heroes’ hero
Huge hair. Huge voice. The only thing missing? Huge album sales.
Back in the '80s as frontman for influential Finnish glam rockers Hanoi Rocks, Michael Monroe seemed destined for a career as big as his bangs. But that never happened, and instead, he's long been a cult figure in the underground rock 'n' roll ranks.
These days Monroe is back with a promising new band featuring former Wildhearts frontman Ginger on guitar along with ex-Danzig six-stringer Todd Youth, drummer Jimmy Clark and fellow Hanoi Rocks alum Sam Yaffa on bass. If you're into Mötley Crüe or Guns N Roses, here's a chance to see one of your heroes' heroes.
See Michael Monroe at 10 p.m. Monday at Wasted Space at the Hard Rock, 4455 Paradise Road. Tickets are $10; call 693-5066.
