Mariah’s new video shot entirely at Caesars Palace — VIDEO

Looks like Mariah Carey has made good use of her time here in Vegas. The singer just dropped a new video for her latest single “Infinity” on YouTube.

The video, shot entirely at Caesars Palace during the first half of her 2015 residency, features live footage from her show, interspersed with a loose story line involving a bored Mariah seeking romance on her smart phone. Oh, and did we mention there’s a cameo from moonlighting Chippendale and recent Chris Brown adversary Tyson Beckford, whom she tweeted a photo with last month. Dude gets around.

Playing a would-be Lothario, the first in a trio of suitors, Beckford summarily gets the gas face from Mimi when he appears on her doorstep in response to an app swipe from m’lady. Showing up bare chested with a bow tie, natch, Beckford garners some quality time with the pine, despite flashing her the old come hither and flexing his pecs (yeah, you have to suspend disbelief a bit for this one). One of the dudes trying to romance the diva shows up with a puppy. Two guesses which one she ends up with.

Alas, though, even on YouTube, Mimi is polarizing and subject to scrutiny. While the first comments on the clip invariably debate Mariah’s current relevancy; some advocate for the diva and others not so much: “This doesn’t deserve to be a hit. It’s really badly sung and is badly auto tuned, I say that as a Mariah fan too. This isn’t We Belong Together or her next comeback single, unfortunately.”

Two other eagle-eyed commenters, meanwhile, note the discrepancy of a Sony phone displaying an iPhone screen. “The editor needs to be fired for this mess, actually, because when you see closely there is an Android UI overlapped with iOS when Mariah swiping out and you see the Android notification appeared on the upper side. Let’s consider as bad editing process.”

Carey kicks off the second half of her 2015 residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Wednesday, July 8. This portion of the residency spans nine dates, with a return slated after the first of the year for new series of dates beginning Feb. 2, and running through Feb. 21. Tickets range from $55 to $250.
