San Gennaro Feast

Between the more than 70 food booths and the more than 80 rides, you can send your stomach some decidedly mixed messages during the 34th annual San Gennaro Feast.

Pasta, pizza, calzones, Italian sausage, fried calamari and baked clams will be among the traditional Italian dishes being served up during the festival, which runs Tuesday through Sept. 15 at the Grand Canyon Shopping Center, 4245 Grand Canyon Drive.

Free entertainment will be provided by Tony Sacca, Lena Prima, Kelly Clinton, The Phat Pack, The Rat Pack Is Back and many others.

Besides the midway games and arts and crafts booths, there will be a petting zoo, pony rides and a beer garden.

A fireworks display will close the festival at 9 p.m. Sept. 15.

The Feast will run 4-11 p.m. Tuesday through Sept. 12, 4 p.m.-midnight Sept. 13, 11 a.m.- midnight Sept. 14 and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sept. 15.

Tickets are $7 general admission, $5 for seniors and military, and children 54 inches and shorter are admitted free.

All-day ride passes are $25 Tuesday through Sept. 12 and $30 Sept. 13-15.

Joe Williams every day

The late, great Joe Williams used to sing “Every Day I Have the Blues.” But the legacy left by the Las Vegas-based jazz giant is anything but blue — as the Joe Williams Every Day Foundation’s Scholarship Sextet demonstrates at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Viva Brazil

Celebrate all things Brazilian, including Brazilian Independence Day, at the Brazilian Outdoor Festival from 2 to 10 p.m. Sunday at Via Brasil Steakhouse, 1225 S. Fort Apache Road. Try on some different rhythms for a change on Monday, when the Hot Club of Las Vegas brings its “gypsy jazz” to the lounge at The Palms, 4321 W. Flamingo Road, at 10:30 p.m.

Dillinger turns 2

Take part in the second anniversary of Boulder City hang The Dillinger, 1224 Arizona St., by knocking back a special Firkin Cask from Big Dog’s Brewing Company, which is the Dirty Dog IPA aged with French Oak Staves marinated in Bulleit Bourbon, as well as live music from surf rock party starters Thee Swank Bastards at 8 p.m. Saturday.
