Intimate Atmosphere
It's true that Body English at the Hard Rock Hotel appeals to local club hoppers because of its off-Strip location, says Cory McCormack, senior director of nightlife development and a managing partner for the hotel.
But there are other reasons, too, he insists. There's the intimate atmosphere and the way in which the staff treats local guests: like VIPs.
"I think the Hard Rock Hotel itself is appealing to locals," McCormack says. "We have an atmosphere here where you don't feel overwhelmed. Body English is small, boutique-y, intimate and the staff is very accommodating."
The 11,000-square-foot club, which opened in 2004, established itself early on as a hot spot for locals, especially on Sunday nights with the Sunday School Party, Body English's industry night, McCormack says.
Locals with Nevada identification get in for free while women who wear a Sunday school outfit drink free champagne all night. Resident DJ Five spins a mix of house and pop music; sometimes a celebrity hosts, McCormack says. The club also offers bottle specials such as two-for-one or half price bottles.
The club is energetic but intimate, serving as both a rowdy party spot and place to enjoy a low-key evening. A lounge area separate from the dance floor provides patrons with a place to get away from the madness and have a conversation and a drink before heading back out to the dance floor, McCormack says.
For the past year, Body English has featured Smashtime on Saturday nights, a young Hollywood scene party hosted by DJ Clinton Sparks and the hosts of E!'s "The Daily 10." It's been a popular event, McCormack says.
Body English is open from 10:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. Fridays through Sundays and Wednesdays. Cover charge is $20 for women and $30 for men. Local ladies always get in free while local men get in free Sunday nights.
Bottle service starts at $400 for every four people but management is lenient with those numbers, McCormack says. Nightclub casual is the required dress, which means no shorts or athletic attire.
