Accordionists to perform Scandinavian music
A popular Norwegian group consisting of nearly two dozen accordionists, three guitarists, vocalists, a washboard player and a repertoire of mostly Scandinavian music will take to a Las Vegas stage Monday.
The high-energy group, Lindesnes Trekkspillklubb, will perform at 7 p.m. at Community Lutheran Church, 4720 E. Tropicana Ave. Tickets, available at the door, are $10; $5 for children younger than 12.
The group will perform for two hours with a short intermission. Complimentary refreshments will be available and CDs and DVDs of the group will be sold.
The group from Lindesnes, the southernmost township in Norway, has brought its upbeat style of performing to 28 states, two Canadian provinces and across Europe since its creation in February 1990.

Nevada Chamber Symphony opens season at library
The Nevada Chamber Symphony will premiere its 26th season at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Clark County Library Theater, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.
The free concert is the first of five in this season's "Classic Touch" series and will feature a program of classical and popular music.
It will open with Overture in D by Haydn, and include a special arrangement of "Early Autumn" by Rombert to celebrate the end of summer.
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the program also will include a selection of popular and traditional music from Mexico and Latin America.
Guest artists will be the Honor Choir and Dance Ensemble of Ronzone Elementary School, the orchestra's 2010-11 education partner.
The symphony was founded in 1985 by Rodolfo Fernandez, conductor and musical director.
