High Energy

In addition to the normal stuff of dancing and drinking, some Strip nightclubs promise romance, with their nooks and crannies and little hideaways for would-be lovers.

Jet at The Mirage promises to let you jump on the furniture, enthusiastically, and not get thrown out.

Laid back and mellow, it's not. Rather, Jet is the place to go if you want to party your heinie off while maybe winning a free boob job.

"I think Jet is more of a high energy romp room," says Steven Lockwood, the club's marketing director. "It's a place you can go and have a party. There's no limit to how much fun you can have."

Jet prides itself on its unique promotions and young, hip crowd. Lockwood is the mastermind behind campaigns such as Boobs or Busts, where women compete for breast implants, and the Las Vegas Blonde Shell Awards.

"We gave a custom pink Corvette to the hottest girl in Las Vegas," he says.

Jet features three rooms, each with a different DJ playing different genres of music. A mix of Top 40 plays in one room, hip-hop in another and rap and R&B in the third room. Resident DJs Eddie McDonald, DJ Neva and Farsheed spin music on most nights, while guest DJs make frequent appearances.

The LED tiled ceiling, with a series of more than 100 tiles, serves as the focal point of the club. The tiles can rotate colors and pulse with the music.

The various textures and colors of dark woods, stone and lush reds and oranges set an earthy tone in the 15,000-square-foot club.

The average cocktail costs $10 while bottle service starts at $425. The dress code is upscale business casual. Cover charge is $30 for men and women; locals with a valid identification are free on Mondays. Hours are from 10:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays.
