Henderson sets schedule for Thursday Night Live
Thursday Night Live, Henderson's weekly free performance series spotlighting local and upcoming talent, has announced its fall schedule.
Shows begin at 8 p.m. on Thursdays at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water St.
"If somebody wants to take a chance on coming to see something, and they've never heard of the artist before, they should know that it's going to be high quality," says Sally Ahlstedt, program specialist for Henderson's Department of Cultural Arts and Tourism.
Ahlstedt booked the talent based on performances she has witnessed around town, and the best of approximately 80 artists who submitted themselves for consideration.
"We started the series last year because it was something we wanted to do to help spotlight local artists and make sure there was some kind of showcasing forum for them," she says.
Ahlstedt says attendance has averaged 226 per show.
"We found that it was really quite a success last year, and we decided to continue it this year."
Picnics, blankets and personal coolers are permitted. Glass containers are prohibited.
