Give Grouplove a group hug at Boulevard Pool

Grouplove is one of those bands that you know even if you don’t really know it, thanks to the L.A. quintet’s beachball-bouncy breakout hit “Tongue Tied.”

Since being released as a single in 2011, the song has been featured in video games, iPod and Coca-Cola commercials and, in the ultimate sign of pop culture ubiquity, was performed by the cast in an episode of “Glee.”

The song encapsulates multiple Grouplove trademarks: a plaintive guitar strum that gives way to dizzy synth lines, coed vocal harmonies, a bulletproof ebullience.

Their latest record, “Spreading Rumours,” is a joyous burst of energy, the sound of a band enjoying you enjoying them.
