Free party to introduce food co-op

A launch party for the new Las Vegas Food Co-op will run from 7 p.m. to midnight Friday at the Star Theater in the Greek Isles Hotel, 305 Convention Center Drive.

The free party features The Study Band, Imagine Dragons and A Crowd of Small Adventures. A cash bar and menu is available.

Operated by The Verve Foundation, the Las Vegas Food Co-op will use multiple vendors to offer a monthly menu of items that can be purchased at savings of 50 percent off local supermarket prices. There are no membership fees or monetary qualifications to join . Food can be ordered online at thevervefoundation.org with credit cards. Or to pay with cash or food stamps, people may call the foundation's office at 425-3951.

Orders can be picked up the last Saturday of the month at the foundation's warehouse, 7850 Dean Martin Drive, Suite 503.
