Free Jazz on the Green concert set Saturday

A free concert featuring acclaimed jazz bass player Brian Bromberg with the Fat City Horns will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday in Centennial Hills Park Amphitheatre, 7101 N. Buffalo Drive.

Audience members may bring blankets, folding chairs and picnics, but pets and glass containers are not permitted. The Jazz on the Green concert is presented by the city of Las Vegas in collaboration with Vegas Jazz. Call 229-1087 for details.

Bromberg has recorded 17 albums, which include more than eight Top 10 hits, some of which he composed and produced.

The Fat City Horns have played together in Las Vegas for many years. Most of the members work in shows on the Las Vegas Strip, but enjoy playing additional gigs together in lounges, recording sessions and at special events. Members Gil Kaupp, Danny Falcone, Phil Wigfall, Nathan Tanouye, Jerry Merra and Rob Mader will join Bromberg's band of Gary Mee, Will Kennedy , Tom Zink and Alec Milstein for this concert.
