Flogging Molly rocks traditional tunes
January 1, 2010 - 10:00 pm
Celt rockers Flogging Molly take traditional Irish music and give it a blood transfusion with Red Bull. The high-energy seven-piece somehow turns the tin whistle and the mandolin into concussive instruments at times, resulting in a swagger that can be downshifted into a sad-eyed waltz at any given moment.
OK, we're done flogging this bunch. See the band at 7 p.m. Saturday at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tickets are $33.50 in advance, $38.50 day of show; call 632-7600.
