Henderson's WinterFest set for this weekend
The city of Henderson's official tree lighting ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. today as part of the city's annual WinterFest Celebration.
The three-day event takes place at the Henderson Convention Center and Henderson Events Plaza & Amphitheatre, both at 200 S. Water St.
A craft show, pony rides, face painting, visits with Santa, ice skating and snow play are scheduled 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday.
Other events include the Henderson International School Choir performing holiday songs at 5:30 p.m. today, the Children's WinterFest Parade at 10 a.m. Saturday on Water Street, and children performing "A Christmas Carol" at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Nevada Chamber Symphony to perform
The Nevada Chamber Symphony will present its annual "Home for the Holidays" concert at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Clark County Library Theater, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.
The performance will include Handel's "Messiah" as well as a selection of traditional holiday songs.
Members of the Ronzone Elementary School Honor Choir will be the guest artists.
