Art festivals fill weekend calendar

You can get your fill of art with three festivals this weekend.

Art in the Square will feature local artists, entertainment, children's activities and food from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Town Square Park, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Admission is free. The event will benefit the Children's Heart Foundation. For more information, call 269-5000.

A fine arts festival featuring arts and crafts, jewelry making, face painting, art demonstrations, food and live performances by the school's choir, band and drama classes is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Henderson International School Upper School campus, 1165 Sandy Ridge Ave.

And an arts and crafts festival, including carriage rides and tours, is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary, 8103 Racel St.

Admission is $5 for adults, and children younger than 12 will be admitted for free. For more information, call 645-680.

Home show opens at Cashman Center

The Better Homes and Gardens Green Works Green Living Tour makes a stop this weekend as part of the Home and Outdoor Living Show at the Cashman Center, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

The event also will feature exhibits of spas, pools, landscaping, kitchens, barbecues, room organizers, garden supplies, solar energy, windows and doors.

The show is scheduled from noon to 7 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for seniors. Children 18 and younger will be admitted for free with a paid adult admission.
