Dog festival to aid Lied Animal Shelter

Rock for the Paws, a benefit for the Lied Animal Shelter, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Hills Park in Summerlin, 9100 Hillpointe Drive.

The event will include a performance by the Gregory Popovich Comedy Pet Theater, local bands, food, dog training demonstrations, mobile dog grooming and dogs and puppies available for adoption.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children.

Coin, jewelry, stamp show this weekend

The Las Vegas Coin, Currency, Jewelry & Stamp Expo is scheduled this weekend in the Skyrise Tower at Circus Circus.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Millions of dollars worth of rare gold pieces, silver dollars and bank notes will be on display and available for purchase.

Free appraisals will be available throughout the weekend.

Tickets are $3 for adults, $2 for seniors, and children under 14 will be admitted free.
