Old Mormon Fort hosts re-enactment
A re-enactment of a conversation between President Abraham Lincoln and Secretary of War Charles A. Dana regarding Nevada's statehood and the end of the Civil War will take place this weekend at the Old Mormon Fort State Park, 500 E. Washington Ave.
The event, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. today and noon Saturday, will include a prologue by author Michael Green and a choir performance.
Admission is $1. Children younger than 12 will be admitted for free.

Pure Aloha Festival returns to Cannery
The Seventh Annual Pure Aloha Festival is set for this weekend at The Cannery, 2121 E. Craig Road.
Sudden Rush, Katchafire and Holliganz will perform at 6 p.m. today and Kapena and Hawaiian Soul will perform at 6 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $28 in advance and $33 at the door for today's show and $23 in advance and $28 at the door for Saturday.
The festival, featuring cultural performances, island arts and crafts and food will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children younger than 10, members of the military, and seniors 65 and older.
