DON’T MISS IT

"MAMMA MIA!"

Swede dreams! If you don't see the Las Vegas version of ABBA's hit musical by Jan. 4, you never will. Beginning in May, "The Lion King" will roar in its place. See that girl, watch that scene at 7:30 p.m. today, 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday, and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, 5 and 9 p.m. Monday, and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Mandalay Bay Theatre, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tickets are $49.50-$110; call 632-7580.

"STOMP OUT LOUD"

Also receiving its Jan. 4th marching orders is "Stomp Out Loud." This show made a racket with barrels and trash cans, yet not enough noise to keep it from being replaced after less than two years. ("Peepshow," a topless revue starring Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown and "Dancing with the Stars" champ Kelly Monaco, bows in March.) Stomp along at 7 and 10 p.m. today and Saturday, 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday, 7 and 10 p.m. Tuesday, and 7 p.m. Thursday at the Planet Hollywood Showroom, 3667 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tickets are $64.90-108.90; call 785-5000.

NEW YEAR'S STORY TIME

Help the kids count down to 12 o'clock at the Sahara West, Sunrise, West Las Vegas, Summerlin and Rainbow libraries -- 12 o'clock noon, that is! Story time starts 11:30 a.m. Wed. in most locations. Admission is free; call 734-7323 for your local schedule.

LAS VEGAS WRANGLERS

The heart of an eight-game home stretch sees the Wranglers try and stick it to the Phoenix Roadrunners at 7:30 p.m. today and the Alaska Aces at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:05 p.m. Sunday at the Orleans Arena, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave. Tickets are $12.50-$38.50; call 284-7777.

ROBBIE KNIEVEL MOTORCYCLE JUMP

On the 41st anniversary of the jump his father, daredevil motorcyclist Evel Knievel, attempted over the Caesars Palace fountains, Robbie Knievel jumps over the newly revamped Mirage volcano -- and possibly from this life to the next. Evel crashed upon landing short, crushing his pelvis and femur and lapsing into a 29-day coma. His jump was 151 feet, by the way; Robbie's is 200. Hogs fly 9 p.m. Wednesday in front of The Mirage, 3400 Las Vegas Blvd. South. KVVU-TV, Channel 5 airs it at midnight. Admission is free.
