Comedy-magic’s dragon finds weekly cave on the Strip

Piff the Magic Dragon, the comedy magician who took his bad attitude nationwide on "America's Got Talent," will have a solo showcase on the Strip in the Flamingo's Bugsy's Cabaret starting Nov. 9.

Piff will do his full-length "Piff the Magic Dragon Show" with his trusty Chihuahua sidekick, Mr. Piffles, at 8 p.m. three days a week, Mondays through Wednesdays.

The rest of the week, the time slot will go to the "X Comedy" show, where Piff was briefly a featured act before gaining traction on the NBC talent contest. Both shows are produced by Angela and Matt Stabile.

The green-costumed Piff (John van der Put) recently told the Review-Journal he was looking for a Las Vegas model similar to that of comedian Eddie Griffin at the Rio: working on the Strip a few days a week and then flying out for one- or two-night bookings.

Piff made it to the finale of this year's "Talent" but ultimately lost to a fellow Brit, ventriloquist Paul Zerdin. His priceless exposure on the show included a finale performance that enlisted fellow Las Vegas headliners Penn & Teller and Mat Franco.
