Clint Holmes holiday show a family affair

Clint Holmes will work on Christmas Day. But that's fine because it's still "a bit of a family holiday thing" with his wife, Kelly Clinton Holmes, and sister, Gayle Steele, in on the act.

"And if Mom is up to a couple of high notes, she won't be shy," he says of his 94-year-old mother, Audrey, who used to display her opera skills in Holmes' headliner showcase at Harrah's Las Vegas.

The concert format of this weekend's Suncoast run will take local fans back to the Christmas shows Holmes did at Harrah's, including the showstopping "William the Angel," which he found through a friendship with composer Rob Mathes.

Shows are at 7:30 p.m. today through Sunday at the Suncoast, 9090 Alta Drive. Tickets are $33-$55; call 636-7075.
