City makes a splash with pool events

The free All-City Synchronized Swimming Show at 7 p.m. today at Baker Pool, 1100 E. St. Louis Ave., kicks off a series of five events at city pools this month.

Pavilion Center Pool, 101 S. Pavilion Center Drive, will host a "dive-in movie" event at 6 p.m. Friday. The animated family film "Shark Tale" will be presented, along with light refreshments. Admission is $3.

The All-City Swim Meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at Pavilion Center Pool will feature youth from the Las Vegas, Clark County and North Las Vegas aquatics programs competing in a novice event.

The summer's third Dash & Splash 1.5-mile run and 300-meter swim is scheduled 8 a.m. Aug. 13 at Pavilion Center Pool. Call 229-1488 for details on Pavilion pool activities.

A Beach Party is planned from noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Municipal Pool, 431 E. Bonanza Road. Call 229-6309 for details.
