Cherry at Red Rock kicks off late-night pool parties
Just when you thought there could be no more twists on the whole day club/party by the pool concept, Cherry at Red Rock Resort comes up with one more.
A pool party at night.
Earlier this month, management kicked off Retreat Sunday at Cherry Cabana Club, says pool and club manager Brian Buechner. Doors open at 10 p.m. every Sunday and don't close until the crowd is ready to go home, at least until 4 a.m.
There's a live DJ, bottle service, food and a pool, everything you would expect to have at a late-night pool party, Buechner says. Proper swimming attire is required for those who want to actually get in the water; otherwise, wear what you would to lounge poolside.
During the night, the club runs a promotion called Sips for Dips. That's where they give women who swim in the pool an endless glass of champagne.
There is no cover charge for Nevada residents with identification.
If you're not much of a night owl and want to see what all the fuss is about the local pool party scene, Cherry Cabana Club is in full swing during the day.
From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day, guests are treated to an all-out pool party. There's music -- provided by live DJs Friday through Sunday -- and a mood director, Buechner says.
The mood director is responsible for getting impromptu volleyball games going, passing out complimentary amenities such as frozen grapes and adult snowcones (with liquor), and ensuring guests have everything they need, Buechner says.
The space, at the pool located outside of Cherry nightclub, is small and intimate with a capacity of about 200. The water is only 4 feet deep, the perfect depth for hanging out, Buechner says. There is no charge for the 12 daybeds and eight cabanas; guests have food and beverage minimums, instead. On the weekends, cabana minimums are $400; during the week, it's $300. Daybed minimums are $200 on weekends and $100 weekdays. There are several first-come, first-served chaise lounges available around the pool.
The pool allows European sunbathing so women can go topless.
