Bayside solves problems with ripping lead, power melodies
March 13, 2014 - 9:08 pm
Bayside’s “Guitar Hero” pop punk raises the question: Is there any problem, personal or otherwise, that a rippin’ lead can’t solve?
About those problems, they are plentiful.
“My head, it hurts, today,” frontman Anthony Raneri sighs on “Time Has Come” from the band’s latest record, “Cult.”
His heart, it hurts, pretty much every day.
But Raneri and company manage to push through it all with brisk, earnest energy bursts powered by unsinkable melodies and plenty of six-string acrobatics.
Don’t be sad, shred.
