Barbra Streisand, ‘Star Wars’ actress Daisy Ridley record song together

LOS ANGELES — “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” star Daisy Ridley and Barbra Streisand have teamed up for a musical collaboration.

Ridley revealed on Instagram that she and Steisand have spent time in the recording studio together. Details surrounding the duet are unknown. It is unclear whether the song will be part of a duets album by Streisand, who has released two collections of duets including 2014’s “Partners.”

The pairing had been hinted at a few days before Ridley’s Instagram confirmation. At the 11th annual Oscar Wilde Awards last week, “Force Awakens” director J.J. Abrams dropped a hint about Ridley’s musical career while marveling about the actress’s packed Oscar weekend.

“The other day we were talking, and she told me that on Saturday, she’s going to record a song with an unnamed person, but a, let’s just [say] massive superstar person … and then on Sunday, she’s presenting an Oscar at the Academy Awards,” Abrams said. “And then on Monday, she’s flying back to the U.K. to star in ‘Episode VIII.’ And she looked at me and she said, in the sweetest, Daisy-est way, ‘What is my life?’ And as her agent, CAA’s excellently Irish Hylda Queally knows well, Daisy’s life is a bit like Rey’s: She’s on a crazy adventure, and it’s just beginning.”
