Accordionist Pete Contino squeezes into Wincester Center

Accordionist: The Next Generation.

That's one way of describing Pete Contino, who continues the accordion tradition of his pop, Dick Contino, when the Pete Contino Band brings its repertoire of blues, zydeco and rockabilly to the Winchester Center Saturday afternoon. Recently signed to major blues label Blind Pig Records -- and with a growing following in Europe -- the junior Contino's ensemble also includes Al Ek on harmonica and slide guitar, Billy Truitt on keyboards, Rob Edwards on stand-up bass and Jim Lovgren on drums.
