Top 100 restaurants in Las Vegas

Our second annual list of the top 100 restaurants in the valley ranges from mom-and-pop storefronts to neighborhood standouts to high-style spots on the Strip. Let us be your guide to the flavors of Las Vegas.

Readers come through on souffle request

Even the most ambitious cooks turn to convenience foods once in a while — especially for dishes that require more than the average amount of labor, and I think spinach souffle fits in that category. And readers know where to get a frozen version for Bob Kostelecky, who’s looking for one.

Outlaws Backyard BBQ back with new ownership, menu

There’s a new chef in town. Outlaws Backyard BBQ, 9500 S. Eastern Ave., in Henderson, which closed its swinging doors in March, has reopened under new ownership. And there’s one law it promises not to violate: making food from scratch. It holds true from the barbecue sauce slathering a third of its new menu to the freshly broiled and sliced club-sandwich meat.

Readers point the way to sausage

Even after nearly 10 years of doing this column I’m frequently surprised by what draws reader feedback and what doesn’t. For Elmer Herndon, who’s looking for Colosimo hot Italian sausage, I received four replies — and two were from people named Colosimo.
