Stuck in Reverse concert set

Las Vegas band Stuck in Reverse will perform its blend of bluegrass, gospel and original compositions at 7 p.m. Jan. 18 at the East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave.

The free performance is part of the Bandstand Jam series and will take place outdoors in the courtyard

In case of inclement weather, the performance will be moved into the ballroom.

Peggy Ruesch, the band's founder, plays rhythm guitar, sings and writes some of the band's material. She has two CDs to her credit, along with the band's newly-released album, "White Pine County Line."

Vera Vann-Wilson plays five-string banjo, dobro and guitar and also sings. Originally from Tennessee, Vann-Wilson has performed at the Ryman Auditorium and the Grand Old Opry.

The band's other members include Jan Ruesch, who plays bass and sings back-up, fiddler and singer Kay Sanderson, and mandolin player Tom Flagg.

The center, operated by the Arts & Community Events Division of the city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services, hosts a wide variety of programs for the community. Many of them focus on Latin American arts, from ballet folklorico and salsa dances to Spanish-language films.
