New steakhouse opens at Monte Carlo

Brand Steakhouse has opened at the Monte Carlo, 3770 Las Vegas Blvd. South. A Light Group restaurant, it features large chops, a broad variety of steaks and housemade sauces, including black pepper cream and a house Worcestershire, plus seafood, including crab, shrimp and lobster, and sides, including a forest mushroom ragout and baked macaroni and cheese. Slow Food-Las Vegas has scheduled two upcoming events. A work day at China Ranch Date Farm in Tecopa, Calif., is scheduled for Saturday. Volunteers will meet at Vons at 7405 S.
