CSN jazz camp concert scheduled for today

Jazz instrumentalists and vocalists will perform at 1 p.m. today in the June Whitley Student Lounge on the College of Southern Nevada's Cheyenne campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave.

The concert is a finale to the college's weeklong Jazz Combo Camp and will be led by CSN music faculty and local jazz musicians.

Admission is free.

Local mariachi band to play free show

Mariachi Platinos will perform at 7 p.m. today at the East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave.

The local group, founded in 2006 by brothers Juan and Luis San Juan, will perform traditional mariachi music as part of the monthly Bandstand Jam Series.

The Spanish-language concert is free.
