'Aida' continues at Spring Mountain Ranch

"Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida" continues this weekend at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, 15 miles west of Las Vegas off of Charleston Boulevard.

The musical, part of Super Summer Theatre, tells the story of the love between a soldier and an enslaved princess.

Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays through Aug. 30.

Attendees may bring blankets or chairs and picnics.

Saturday wine tasting to aid Opportunity Village

The second annual O-Vino Wine Tasting, to benefit Opportunity Village, is scheduled for 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the World Market Center -- World View on 495 S. Grand Central Parkway.

The event will feature hundreds of wines to sample, along with live entertainment from Venus Rising, psychic readings by Mystic Mona, food from Trader Vic's and a silent auction.

Tickets are $50 in advance and $75 at the door.
