Embrace the holiday spirit at Magical Forest

Want to catch the holiday spirit?

Pack up family and friends and venture over to Opportunity Village, 6300 W. Oakey Blvd., for the annual Magical Forest. Who can resist Santa Claus and the thousands of colorful lights that transform the agency's grounds into a winter wonderland?

The forest is open through Dec. 30 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 5:30 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Admission is $9.50 for adults and $7.50 for children ages 3 to 11. Passports at $16 for adults and $14 for children offer admission and unlimited rides on the train, carousel and Alpine slide in addition to the new Storytime Theatre. For details, call 259-3741.

The forest is filled with Christmas displays, holiday music and food. The Forest Express train winds its way through the two-acre site.The Gift Box Cafe serves funnel cakes in addition to hot dogs, hamburgers and pizza. The Gift Cabin is open to help guests fill their Christmas lists.

All proceeds from the Magical Forest will benefit people with disabilities employed at Opportunity Village.
