Giant bride joins up with monsters in 3-D flick
Movie: "Monsters vs. Aliens"
When: Opening Friday at local theaters; in 3-D and IMAX 3-D at selected theaters
Cast: Voices of Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Laurie, Seth Rogen, Will Arnett, Kiefer Sutherland, Rainn Wilson, Stephen Colbert, Paul Rudd

The story: On her wedding day, a California girl finds herself transformed from bride to Bridezilla when she's zapped by a cosmic ray, grows to giant proportions -- and joins a misfit monster crew to battle alien invaders.
The buzz: DreamWorks Animation boss Jeffrey Katzenberg has decreed that all future releases will be in 3-D. "Monsters vs. Aliens" is the first to get that treatment, and it's a creature feature indeed, with links to such past sci-fi romps as "Attack of the 50-Foot Woman," "The Blob," "Creature From the Black Lagoon" and "The Fly." (There are even references to two hits directed by DreamWorks co-founder Steven Spielberg: "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.")
