Host to take a ride

Phil Keoghan, host of "The Amazing Race," will be doing a ride of his own with a bicycle trip across America. His motive for cycling cross-country is to encourage people to pursue a healthy life and spotlighting the battle against multiple sclerosis. The trip will kick off March 28 from Los Angeles and will end May 9 in New York. Keoghan plans to average 100 miles a day and hopes as he passes through areas, including Las Vegas, that locals will join in.

Newman honored

On Tuesday night, the House approved a resolution that honors Paul Newman's achievements on and off screen. The 10-time Academy Award nominee died Sept. 26 after a battle with cancer. The resolution said Newman's "humanitarian works and incomparable talents have made him an American icon who will never be forgotten." Newman had major roles in more than 50 motion pictures and won one Oscar and received two honorary ones. The actor and his company, Newman's Own, have given more than $250 million to charity over the years.

He's back

Since becoming governor of California in 2003, Arnold Schwarzenegger hasn't made too many screen appearances. However, he will make a cameo in Sylvester Stallone's "The Expendables," which begins shooting March 28. Schwarzenegger's role in the film: He'll play the governor of California. The film is about a group of mercenaries trying to overthrow a South American dictator and also will feature Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke and Forest Whitaker.

Page is out

Steven Page, a longtime singer and guitarist for the Barenaked Ladies, has left the band, according to the group's Web site. The report says Page will pursue solo projects, including theater. The news comes several months after drug charges against Page were dropped. The musician, his girlfriend and her roommate were charged with drug possession in New York state in July after police found cocaine at an apartment. The three took a deal in late October to have charges dropped if they stayed out of trouble for six months. In an online statement, Page said: "These guys are my brothers. We've grown up together over the past 20 years. I love them and wish them all the best in the future."
