Go country Saturday at Floyd Lamb Park

With its rolling lawns, four small lakes and cottonwood trees, Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs is the perfect natural setting for an afternoon of country music, beginning at 2 on Saturday.

John Encinio and the Full House Band will play Tex-Mex country styles as well as classic and Southern rock and blues for this family event. Admission to the park at 9200 Tule Springs Road is $6 per vehicle.

Participants may bring blankets and folding chairs, but no pets or glass containers.

Call 229-6383 for more information prior to Saturday or 229-8100 on the day of the event.

Based in Las Vegas, Full House Band has opened the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas for the past 16 years, and is popular in the western United States.

Future family events at Floyd Lamb Park include a free Spring Celebration on April 4 that features a farmers' market, children's activities, games and contests. On May 9, Rainbow Company Youth Theatre will present performances of "Mark Twain's Nevada" at 10 a.m. and noon. Jimmie Ray's Classic Country Express will play a hayride-style country music concert at 2 p.m. May 23.
