All is well

In an interview with People magazine, Jon Gosselin dismisses reports that his eight children are being exploited by TLCs "Jon & Kate Plus 8." Last week, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor announced that a probe was being launched to see if the show is complying with child labor laws, though TLC says it "fully complies" with state laws and regulations. According to Gosselin, his children are not being exploited."I don't even want to use that word, because I think it's ridiculous," he told the magazine. "We have healthy, happy, well-adjusted, educated kids. They're bouncing around and having a good time."

An old friend returns

Sir Paul McCartney will be the first to play a concert at Citi Field, the new stadium of the New York Mets. The concerts are scheduled for July 17-18. In a statement, the singer said he's excited and he's "really looking forward to a buzzing show." The previous home of the Mets, Shea Stadium, was where the Beatles performed for a sold-out crowd of fans in 1965.

Pushing for marriage

"Sex and the City" actress Cynthia Nixon is pushing New York lawmakers to legalize same-sex marriage. If the law is enacted next year, the actress says she hopes to marry her partner in New York. Nixon is engaged to Christine Marinoni and says she'll marry next summer and hopes to do it in New York. The marriage legislation is backed by Gov. David Paterson and has passed the Assembly. Senate Democratic Majority Leader Malcolm Smith is trying to rally votes to pass it there. Nixon said she was encouraged after her meeting with six lawmakers.

Mommy, I'm scared

"I remember watching Johnny Carson when I was a kid and thinking: That's what I want to be when I grow up. I'm sure right now in America there is likely a kid watching me, thinking: 'What is wrong with that man's hair?'" -- Conan O'Brien in his debut as host of "The Tonight Show."
