Is there a word that's stumping you? Don't use an everyday dictionary, whether it's an actual book -- remember those? -- or one online. Instead, click on www.wordnik.com. You enter the word, and not only is a definition provided, but also examples of the word in a sentence, real-time use of the word on Twitter, related words, pictures that have that word as a tag on Flickr, how often one can expect to use that word and the best way to play it in Scrabble (by using an anagram, synonym, antonym, whatever scores highest).
Need to get rid of something? Whether it's leftovers, a hickey, a hangover or in-laws, www.howtogetridofstuff. com has the answer. Search for what you need to be gone and there's a lengthy description of a cure, related issues and reader interaction.
Whether you're a Bible scholar or just interested, www.biblemap.org uses Google maps to pinpoint exact locations of where biblical events occurred. Enter the book and chapter you're interested in, and little arrows will pop up. Click on the arrow for more information, and read the Bible verses on the screen that show where the place name is used.
