Sometimes it's easy to get lost in the maze of information found on Wikipedia. The site bestofwikipedia.tumblr.com rounds up, well, the best of Wikipedia. Updated twice daily, you can learn all about the Streisand Effect or the Jedi Census Phenomenon.
Books can take you on an adventure, but if you want to visit a specific state without leaving your favorite chair, check out bookaroundthestates.blogspot.com. Rather self-explanatory, each state is highlighted with a book, and readers are invited to submit entries. Some states more than others, and it's not always the latest release. For example, one of Texas' entries is "The Last Picture Show," which was written in 1966.
