AZURE POOL CLUB CATERS TO HIGH-END WITH FROZEN GRAPES, ICED TOWELS, WATER MISTINGS
Every pool party creates its own sort of vibe. And, at Azure, the pool party at the Palazzo, the vibe is opulent, sophisticated and upscale.
Definitely upscale.
The tipoffs? Champagne. Evian water mistings. Frozen grapes. Iced towels. A roster of food offerings created by Wolfgang Puck. And, all of it offered in lush surroundings meant to bring to mind the French Riviera.
This is the first summer for Azure and, says Samantha Fick, Azure pool manager, the intent from the start was to create "an upscale luxury daytime pool club catering to the high-end."
At the same time, she adds, "We don't want to shy away from anybody."
Guests are served by a staff of "butlers and butlerettes," Fick says, who offer both the sophisticated touches above as well as complimentary noshes such as skewered fruits, gazpacho and mini bloody marys. More substantial dishes, created by Puck, also are offered on a poolside menu.
Azure's landscaping and layout are intended to create a sense of calm and privacy. The idea, Fick says, is to offer privacy to those who want it, and in-the-center-of-it-all excitement for those who seek that.
Guests, Fick says, can "come out and have a big, fun time, but you can still find some privacy."
Even the music offerings hew to a less-intense vibe than many other clubs in town. "I think it's mellowish," Fick says, "but it has a little bit of a hip vibe."
Guests also can enjoy services offered by Canyon Ranch SpaClub, from massages to complimentary applications of sun block.
On Saturdays, Azure also is the setting for fashion shows featuring apparel and accessories from retailers such as Barneys New York, Diane von Furstenberg, Tory Burch and others from The Shoppes at the Palazzo.
Available to guests are 11 cabanas and 13 daybeds and a variety of chairs. Cabanas can be had for a food and beverage minimum ranging from $500 to $2,000, while daybeds can be obtained for a food and beverage minimum of $300 to $500, Fick says.
Not surprisingly, Azure's combination of opulence and stress-free appointments have appealed to a roster of visiting celebrities that so far has included Matt Dillon, Mario Lopez, Karina Smirnoff and Khloe Kardashian, Fick says.
But, Fick adds, "We like to cater to local guests as well."
In fact, cover charges are $20, but admission is complementary to locals on Thursdays and Sundays.
Azure is open to guests 21 and over. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays.
