Michael Moore aims at ‘Capitalism’

Movie: "Capitalism: A Love Story"

When: Opening Friday at local theaters

Cast: Michael Moore, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Henry Paulson, Alan Greenspan

Director: Michael Moore

The story: Cinematic lightning rod Michael Moore's latest hot-button documentary explores the U.S. economy's recent meltdown -- and the policies, and politics, that triggered it.

The buzz: Would you believe it has been 20 years since Moore's breakthrough, "Roger & Me," in which he skewered then-General Motors boss Roger Smith about GM's downsizing -- and its impact on Moore's Flint, Mich., hometown? Two decades later, Moore's still on the warpath, using his sardonic documentaries to express outrage over everything from America's fascination with guns (the Oscar-winning "Bowling for Columbine") to its Iraq war policies ("Fahrenheit 9/11") and its dysfunctional health care system ("Sicko"). In his latest, which won two awards at the recent Venice film festival, Moore continues his rabble-rousing, vowing "I refuse to live in a country like this, and I'm not leaving."
