The Nevada Chamber Symphony is made up of local professional musicians.

Fernandez established the orchestra in 1985 under the auspices of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District. His goals for the group were to provide high quality live music, encourage appreciation of classical music, foster the development of musicians in Southern Nevada and lift the city's cultural scene.
