Desert Chorale plans concerts

The Desert Chorale has scheduled two holiday concerts featuring Handel's "Messiah" and "A Christmas Celebration" with guest Alex Boye, a soloist with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

"Messiah" will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Artemus Ham Hall on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. Admission is free.

Guests soloists include soprano Lindsay Killian, mezzo-soprano Juline Gilmore, tenor Mark Thomsen and bass Neil Wilson.

This concert is not recommended for children younger than 8.

"A Christmas Celebration" will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at Artemus Ham Hall. Admission is free.

The family-oriented program will feature traditional Christmas music. In addition to Boye, guest performers will include the Nevada Pops, under the direction of Richard McGee, and Vari8tions.
