Henderson celebrates its history with parade, festival
The Henderson Heritage Parade & Festival, a celebration of the city's 57-year history, will run from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water St. The event will feature a mayor and council breakfast, the parade, a daylong festival and car show. Admission is free.
Kicking off the celebration will be the breakfast at 8 a.m. in front of the Henderson Convention Center, followed by a parade down Water Street, from Ocean Avenue to Victory Road, at 10 a.m. Lon Kruger u25B6, UNLV men's basketball head coach, will serve as parade grand marshal.
Other activities include a festival from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. featuring world cuisine, live entertainment, crafts and cooking demonstrations. The classic car show on Water Street, from Basic Street to Atlantic Avenue, will run from noon to 5 p.m. For details, call 267-2171.
