ESPN ZONE

New York-New York, 3790 Las Vegas Blvd. South; 933-3776

What better place to watch the Big Game -- or any game, really, on any day of the year -- than at this palace dedicated to the art of moving balls around a field or court or whatever. The food's pretty good, too, including Buffalo wings that were just zippy enough, the Smoke House Burger, with the restaurant's truly delightful barbecue sauce, and the Southwest Chicken Salad (the latter with reservations, because we thought the pasta an odd touch). (2/5/10)

Overall: B+ $$

LUCIO RISTORANTE

8615 W. Sahara Ave.; 233-2859

Lucio Ristorante isn't in our neighborhood but we wish it were -- although it's worth a drive across town. Somewhat jazzed-up since its former life as Jazzed, it continues the tradition of great risotti (we loved the Italian-sausage variety) but is no one-trick pony; other notable dishes included Peperoni Arrostiti, baked artichoke hearts and Melanzane alla Parmigiana. Overall: A $$

MORTON'S THE STEAKHOUSE

400 E. Flamingo Road; 893-0703

The slogan sounds like adspeak-- no doubt about that -- but it turns out to be true: Morton's is The Steakhouse. We loved it all, including the crabmeat cocktail, salad of tomatoes with purple onion and blue cheese, sesame-encrusted yellowfin tuna, New York strip, Lyonnaise potatoes, creamed spinach and Grand Marnier souffle. And during the Power Hours in Bar 12-21 during the early and late evening, we can get Morton's Bar Bites and Mortonis at bargain prices. (2/12/10)

Overall: A $$$$ ($$ during Power Hours)

SABOR

594 N. Stephanie St., Henderson; 473-5377

Sabor isn't a tacos-and-taquitos kind of place -- which is a good thing, because even the requisite chips and salsa are an adventure in flavor, texture and color, with fried tortilla strips, soft corn tortillas, black bean salsa, chile de arbol, tomatillo salsa and toasted cumin and coriander seeds. We also loved the Sabor Queso Dip, mango shrimp, coconut ahi tuna, mahi-mahi with fresh fruit salsa and California enchiladas. (5/21/10)

Overall: A $$
