Free peeks offered at kids’ museum, Springs Preserve

Families can take a free look at Lied Discovery Children's Museum and the Springs Preserve u25B6 this weekend through a national program sponsored by Target stores.

Target Arts & Wonder Free Family Events are designed to show "the arts have the power to engage and enrich our children's academic achievement, both inside and outside the classroom setting," said Laysha Ward, president of community relations for Target.

Free admission to the children's museum, 833 Las Vegas Blvd. North, will be offered from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. "Maze Mania" is one of the featured exhibits, along with other ongoing hands-on displays.

The Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd., will be free from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. It has science and historical displays and a botanical garden.

Other activities will be offered in conjunction with the Target event.
